Villa Sofia comes with free wi-fi, linen and towel change every 5 days, fully equipped kitchen with all the basic cooking essentials and plenty of available parking spaces in the surrounding area.
Also available at no extra charge: Safe, washing machine, flat-screen television, sound system, cot for young children (you need to request this upon booking the property.)
Natural air conditioning is provided by the stone structure and the careful spatial planning, as cool air is channelled through the property to keep inhabitants cool, even during the hottest months of the summer.


The villa was built in the 18th century and was restored in 2010. It includes many original features of traditional Greek and Turkish architecture as well as modern aesthetics and appliances.

The property is located in the village of Prines, a traditional settlement, close to the center of Crete and short distance away from the town of Rethymno.


Villa Sofia has 3 bedrooms. This property can comfortably accommodate 6 people. (Maximum capacity is 10 people).
Ground floor:
The main entrance of the property faces north. Upon entering the house one encounters an open area consisting of a living-room including seating space, a fireplace and a brilliantly preserved stone arc. A fully equipped kitchen and dining area is also a part of the first landing. On this ground floor there is also a large bedroom with two single beds, storage space and a full bath. The rear portion of the ground floor leads to an exterior enclosed courtyard. The pool, sunbathing area and barbecue-adobe oven are located there.
Second floor:
There is a loft area off the staircase which leads to the second floor area which is furnished as an office space. There are two bedrooms on the second floor (one with an attic space) and a full bath. On this landing, there is a large veranda overlooking all of the village of Prines, the mountains, the oak forest, and the sea.
