We are delighted to have teamed up with a renowned Cretan photographer-guide. He will be leading this very special journey to the Renaissance period historic cities of Crete and out into the Lefka Ori massif, Ida Mountain and Lassithi plateau. With his expert tuition, any aspiring photographers or simply those who would like to learn the necessary skills to take great travel photographs will be sure to greatly improve their technique and photographic knowledge.
In Chania and Rethymnon, we will initially focus on what it takes to capture in a single image what makes those cities so extraordinary. There will be private visits to local workshops and artisans in order for the group to take photographs away from the crowds and get under the skin of the city.
Meals at some of the city’s finest restaurants are included each day and these will range from lunch at well loved Cretan Tavernas to dinners in recognised haunts of the island.
Then, in complete contrast to the hubbub of the tourist towns, our photographers will be privately driven deep into the Cretan Mountains where our guide-photographer will explain how to take photographs of these powerful landscapes in all lights.
Each day guests will explore these beautiful mountains, visit local villages and enjoy scenic picnics with unbroken views of the snow-capped peaks and lush valleys in spring bloom.
Spring is one of the very best times to visit Greece and especially Crete, when bright blue skies give way to beautiful sunsets and the weather is warm enough to sit by the pool but temperatures are still far from the dizzy heat of the summer.
